We at Diamond Ready Baseball Gloves have added a new line of Vinci Gloves in addition to our Shoeless Joe Glovesto offer you. We have our traditional Player Series Gloves and our NEW Pro Select Series Gloves. The Player Series Gloves have recently gone through changes that have made these gloves more durable and made to last many seasons. Shoeless Joe has made both series with the latest technologies in making gloves. Some of the changes made in the Player Series were strengthening the thumb and pinkie finger areas in addition to adding our XRD Technology in the palm area to reduce stinging in the hand. These gloves are designed for the player over 13 and will come stiffer than our Player Series gloves. All that is needed to break in these gloves is to play catch for about one week and they should be "Game Ready".

The Vinci Series Gloves will feel and play more like the Pro Select Shoeless Joe Gloves. They are made of the thickest leather and are designed to take a beating on the field. Many Pro Baseball Players are using Vinci Gloves.
Training Gloves
Our Shoeless Joe Training Gloves are designed to help develop the proper fielding techniques for the infielder. These gloves were designed small like a child's glove but with a larger hand area so that high school and college age players can fit their hands in the glove. These gloves force a player to stay down on the ball while fielding and field the ball in the pocket of the glove. These gloves are a much more realistic way of fielding grounders instead of using a flat board. Several Division 1 programs are using these training gloves.
Infielder's Gloves
Infielder's gloves are smaller than any other glove on the field. The smaller length and shallow pocket allows an infielder to retrieve the ball from the glove to throwing hand quickly. The quick transition is needed for double plays and other hard to make plays on the infield.
Infielder's gloves have several different web designs that cause the ball to react differently in the glove when the ball hits the web and those are factors in choosing a glove. Choosing a web design is a personal choice and all of our Shoeless Joe models work well in the infield.
We at Diamond Ready Baseball Gloves have several different web designs; closed web, I web, H web and trap webs. A closed web design is a single patch of leather attached to the glove. This design allows for a quick transition from glove to hand without the risk of getting fingers stuck in the web while retrieving the ball.
An I web design gives a player several advantages using this type of glove. This I web design stops the ball from spinning when hitting the web which allows for a quick transition from glove to throwing hand. This I web design also gives a player more vision on popups because of the open spaces between the patches of leather.
The H web is similar to the I web but has even more open space between patches of leather. A great glove for stopping the ball in the webbing and again allows for the quick transition from glove to throwing hand.
Our Trap styles are varied and have a little different reaction when the ball hits the web. Our Modified Trap and Tennessee Trap style gloves are going to act similar when the ball hits the web. The ball is going to roll to the pocket after hitting the web on a grounder. The Six finger Glove will act similar but not as pronounced. All three designs are great at snagging balls in the hole and stopping the ball immediately. They do have much more lacing in the web than the other models.

First Base Gloves
A first base glove is larger than most gloves on the field. They have a large padded outer edge and a deep pocket with a very large web design. All of these features help the first baseman handle all kinds of balls thrown his way.
A first base glove can be a very important part of a baseball game. A first base glove's extra length and size can help a first baseman make a play they may not make with a fielder's glove and be the difference between a game winning out or not.
The large outer edge helps in digging off line throws in the dirt and the extra length of the glove helps snag off line throws to make the out. We at Diamond Ready Baseball Gloves believe that first base glove can make an average first baseman look much better once they start using a first base glove.
A Shoeless Joe First Base Glove is essential to a player that plays first base most of the time. It makes their job much easier and can make them look like a Hall of Famer.
Outfielder's Gloves
Outfielder's baseball gloves are larger than infielder gloves because of the need to reach out to make that tough play hit in the gap. They have longer length and a deeper pocket to aid in playing the outfield position. The need for the fielder to get rid of the ball quickly is not as prominent as in the infield so it is more important for the outfielder to have a longer glove to reach out to make the hard to make play.
Our outfield web designs at Diamond Ready Baseball Gloves include closed webs, trap webs, single bar web and H web. Our closed web designs are of the basket weave and V lace variety and are great gloves for the outfield due to stability the web design gives to the glove. The baseball is going to stick when hitting the closed web design and not roll in the glove.
Our outfield trap designs are in abundance and are starting to be the web design of choice by major league ball players. The trap designs are great for the outfield because the ball stops immediately when hitting the web because of the extra lacing. Choosing which trap style is a personal choice and each glove performs similar when the ball hits the web.
Our single bar and H web designs give the outfielder a little more visibility while catching that high fly ball that a player is camping under. The visibility comes from the single patches of leather on the webbing thus allowing the outfielder to peak through those open areas of sight to help make the catch.
Catcher's Mitts
We at Diamond Ready Baseball Gloves have the catcher's back. Shoeless Joe has developed a catcher's mitt that has tons of padding in the pocket and on the edges of the mitt. That large padded area on the edges help protect the catcher's thumb and pinkie finger so they do not get broke by a pitch that hits either side of the mitt. Our catcher's mitts have just enough padding in the pocket to allow that 95 MPH fast ball pop the mitt and not hurt the catcher's hand. Too much padding in the pocket and the fast ball is going to pop out of the mitt.
The Vinci Series catcher's mitts are going to take more time to break in. They will come very stiff and they will need some work before taking these gloves to a real practice or game situation. Great durable gloves that are going to last a long time.
The catcher's position is the hardest position on the baseball field to play hands down. A catcher is squatting down every pitch, taking balls off his body and not to mention having to wear tons of protective gear while it is very hot. Then he has to be able to handle the flame thrower on the team that hurts his hand nearly every time a pitch is thrown.
Our catcher's mitts have a wrist guard and index finger hood to help the catcher play his position without getting injured.
Our catcher's mitts are easy to break in as well. Our catcher's mitts are easily broken-in because of how they are made. Our mitts and gloves are not stained or dyed over and over which makes a glove stiff. Our gloves and mitts are 100% leather including the laces and are stained ONCE and then rubbed down with old time ingredients to help soften and break-in the leather.
All a player needs to do to break-in the catcher's mitt is to fold the outer edges in over and over to get the stiffness worked out of the mitt and then start playing catch. A player should start catching a pitcher once the player feels comfortable with the ball sticking in the pocket while playing catch. Our Shoeless Joe Catcher's Mitts should be Diamond Ready after a few times catching a pitcher.
Our 30" catcher's mitt is designed for the player under 12. Our two larger Shoeless Joe Catcher's Mitts will fit players depending on their age and size. Our 34" mitt is a larger mitt and is made for the high school catcher and above who can handle a large mitt.
Pitcher's Gloves
A pitcher needs to select a glove that is easy to handle and allows him to hide his grip on the ball so the opposing team cannot see what pitch is about to be thrown. A pitcher's glove is usually a closed web design or a web design that is mostly closed. All of our gloves listed on our pitcher's page are either a closed web or trap web design. You will also notice that our pitcher's gloves can be used at other positions.

A pitcher needs to be cool, calm and collected. A pitcher does not need to worry about his glove while he is on the mound so that is why it is important to select the correct pitcher's glove.
A very important aspect of choosing a pitcher's glove is the size. Usually a pitcher's glove is somewhere between a 11 3/4" and 12 1/2" glove. That range can change depending on the pitcher's age, size and their personal choice. We at Diamond Ready Baseball Gloves firmly believe that a pitcher needs to select a glove size that is easy to handle and not too big. The last thing a pitcher needs is to have some large glove flopping around during the motion.

Baseball Glove Sizing
Another mission at Diamond Ready gloves is to make sure that we give you the most information we can in selecting the right glove for yourself or your ball player. We at Diamond Ready gloves believe that sizing a glove is very important. The correct sized glove for your ball player helps to teach them the correct way to catch a ball in the glove. A ball should be caught in the web crotch or the top of the pocket of the glove.
Our gloves at Diamond Ready are made so that a person can adjust the wrist area to make the glove more snug. We have an extra two holes drilled into the leather on the wrist area of the glove to make the adjustment.
Too many times we see young ball players and even older ball players playing with gloves that are way too big for them. The glove should be an extension of the player's hand and if your player has a hard time controlling the glove then that glove is too big.
We at Diamond Ready gloves understand that each ball player is different in size and strength and the following guidelines are suggestions of what size of gloves fit what ages and positions. If you or your ball players does not fit the average size for attained age then you should consider a smaller or larger glove depending on the size of the person using the glove.
You will notice that we at Diamond Ready gloves use the word utility a great deal on the description of the gloves.Our description of utility means that glove could be used at multiple positions in the infield and outfield. Utility gloves are great for players under age 12 because they are typically moving around to different positions. If you or your ball player is playing a specific position or always playing in the infield or outfield then please follow our recommendations in the different categories.
The glove sizes that are listed on our website means the length of the glove from the top of the webbing of the glove to the bottom of the glove with the gloves opening being the area that is measured.

The first thing that needs to happen is a proper fit of the glove. The glove needs to fit snug around the hand, but not too tight. Also, the ball players wrist should be hanging outside the bottom of the glove. If your ball player's hand is all the way in the glove then it is too big. We at Diamond Ready gloves recommend ball players wear batting gloves when using their ball gloves. Fingers need to extend past the pocket. If the ball is hitting the tips of fingers in the pocket then the glove is too big.
Around age 11-12 is when players start using different styles of gloves for different positions. This is when web styles come into play. Usually middle infielders play with I and H webs, however, smaller gloves with trap web style gloves have become very popular in the infield. Some players at third base prefer closed web styles.
Infielder's gloves are smaller than outfielder's gloves especially as the ball player gets older. The reason for the small glove in the infield is for the quick transition from glove to throwing hand for the out.
Pitchers can use any size that is comfortable. Pitchers should use basket weave, closed web or trap style gloves. Those gloves are recommended so the pitcher can hide what grip they have on the ball so the opposing team cannot pick up what the pitcher is about to throw.
Outfielder's gloves are usually the trap style gloves but any of our gloves that are listed in the outfield category are ideal for the outfield. Outfield gloves have a larger web for catching the fly ball easier. Outfielders do not have to use larger gloves if they feel uncomfortable using a larger glove. What is most important is that the glove fits the ball player correctly and that they can handle the glove with ease.
We at Diamond Ready gloves offer two first base gloves and three catcher's mitts. The 12' first base glove is best used for ball players under age 14. The 13" first base glove can be used by younger ball players if the player has large enough hands to handle the glove. Both gloves are excellent in helping dig balls out of the dirt at first and reaching for that throw that is off line. These gloves will make a first basemen's job much easier. Highly recommend getting a first base glove for your ball player if that is a position they play a lot.
Our catcher's mitts at Diamond Ready our unbelievable. The 30" mitt is designed for players under 12. The 32" is usually going to fit a ball player under age 14. Both the 32" and 34" are for high school/college. There is not much difference in size so if you are a catcher with a smaller stature with smaller hands then the 32" glove would be the one for you or your ball player.
